How are we to settle such questions? Plainly, what is needed is some reasonably objective method we can employ in order to come somewhat closer to agreement on these crucial questions. 12 THE ASCENT FROM NOMINALISM My strategy here will be to try to make clear what sorts of entities Plato supposed the Forms to be by examining the ways in which he argues for the existence of such Forms.
