The articles within the ebook deal with circulation instability and transition beginning with classical fabric handled in an leading edge and rigorous means, a few more moderen actual mechanisms defined for the 1st time and at last with the very advanced subject of bombustion and two-phase move instabilities.

Results Pollution impacts Air concentrations of S02, NO x and 0 3 recorded at meteorological stations located next to the sites, are given in Table 1. The concentrations of these air pollutants reflect the different deposition load of the sites and the temporal variations in the period from 1988- 1995. Since 1990 the situation has changed. At all sites the annual mean of S02 concentration has decreased significantly. Especially in Rosa S02 decreased from 143 to 25 Ilg m- 3 , but the differences among the sites persist.
Soil samples were taken in October 1993 and 1995 from the humic horizon (OF/O H ) by using a sharp-edged soil cutting frame, adjacent to the trees selected for harvest. The individual samples were combined in order to obtain one mixed sample from each plot per site. The fresh samples were passed through a 2 mm sieve, freeze-dried, milled and stored for further chemical analysis. For the determination of sulphate-sulphur, nitrate-nitrogen, ammoniumnitrogen and calcium in throughfall of investigated pine stands, bark samples were collected in October 1991-1995.
56 H Schulz et al. threshold in the synthesis or storage of both amino acids as well as soluble protein. At this threshold the capacity for the synthesis of glutamine and the storage of soluble protein, too, is saturated (Figure 7c). w. (Table 3), a level considered optimal for growth (Heij and Schneider, 1991; Heinsdorf, 1993). Further nitrogen uptake via roots or needles must now be channelled or detoxified by storage in arginine, instead of being assimilated into the protein nitrogen fraction.
