The scope of biological measurements on board the ships "Vostok-3" and "Vostok-4" as compared to those of "Vostok -1" and "Vostok- 2" was considerably enlarged. During the flight the following indices were registered on every astronaut : electrocardiogram, electroencephalogram, skin-galvanic reflexes, electrooculogram, pneumogram. Special onboard medical radioelectronic instruments were developed characterized by a low weight and small size, high reliability and low energy consumption. The information was communicated to the Earth by means of several radiotelemetric systems of continuous and periodic action.
To the Exploration of Outer Space 27 values. Conditions of this kind were accepted as sufficiently favourable for future manned flight as well. Finally, the reliability of the telemetric devices was proven by the possibility of obtaining information from on board the ship about the functioning of the equipment, and by teleobservations of the hygienic parameters of the medium, of the physiological state, and of the behaviour of animals.
