The structural information can be divided into internal and relational structures. Information provided by the internal structure includes data type properties of attributes, cardinality constraints, or identifiers and keys. Internal structure information is provided by the structure of the entities themselves, not considering any relation with other entities. In contrast, the relational structure information is such information that considers the different types of relationships between entities.
Therefore, this document describes a research approach to leveraging the semantic content of ontologies to improve KDD. This paper is organized as follows: after this introductory part we present related background concepts. Then, we present related work on this area following the presentation and discussion of ontological assistance. The main contribution is presented in terms of ontological work, experiments and deployment. Finally we draw some conclusions and address further research based on this research to future KDD data environment projects.
