Even more critically, the features most conducive to females’ success are different from the features most conducive to males’ success—and are the features least supported in end-user programming environments. This is the opposite of the situation for features conducive to males’ success [29]. To begin to address this problem, we proposed two theory-based features that aimed to improve female performance without harming male performance [3]. We evolved these features over three years through the use of formative investigations, drawing from education theory, self-efficacy theory, information processing theory, metacognition, and curiosity theory.

When an idea is categorized as possible it means that the idea is plausible, but will not become a part of the general product.
