Solid-state synthesis, using various protocols, was used to produce synthetic chromite (FeCr2O4) [2–4] and synthetic magnesiochromite (MgCr2O4) [2]. In addition, Qayyum et al. synthetized various compositions of the (Fe, Mg)(Cr, Al)2O4 solid solution in solid-state [3], while (Fe, Mg)(Fe, Cr, Al)2O4 solid solution synthesis was studied by Wu et al. [5]. The work presented in this article aimed at developing a liquid state synthesis route allowing the production of large quantities of material at once and in a short time.
